Picture something wider than the Moon's orbit, thinner than a pool.
Saturn's rings span roughly 280,000 kilometres — close to the full distance between the Earth and the Moon. Now hold that picture. Then collapse it down to about ten metres thick. That's the aspect ratio we're dealing with: a structure you could drive across for months, yet one you could wade through in seconds. If you scaled the rings down to the size of a sheet of A4 paper, the thickness would be invisible to the naked eye. They're almost entirely water ice — fragments ranging from fine dust to house-sized boulders — all orbiting in an impossibly flat disc. And they won't last forever. On cosmic timescales, they're temporary, and may be gone within tens of millions of years. Every giant planet has rings, but none come close to this.
