Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 July 2026

Deep Field Vault (“we”, “us”) is an independent educational project that publishes short factual videos about astronomy and space science to our own YouTube and TikTok channels, and operates this website at deepfieldvault.com. This policy explains what data we handle.

The short version

This website is a simple, static informational site. We do not run advertising trackers or sell data. We do not collect personal information from you unless you choose to email us.

Information we process

Our YouTube and TikTok channels

We publish our own original videos to our YouTube and TikTok channels. We use the platforms’ official publishing APIs — the TikTok Content Posting API and the YouTube Data API — solely to upload our own content to our own accounts and manage our own posts. We do not access, collect, request, or store any data about viewers, subscribers, or other users through those APIs, and we do not use them to read, analyse, or retrieve content belonging to anyone else.

To publish on our own behalf, the platforms issue us an authorisation credential (an OAuth access token and refresh token, and our own account identifier) when we connect our accounts. We store these credentials securely and in encrypted form (AWS Secrets Manager), use them only to upload our own videos, never share them with third parties, and can revoke them at any time from the platform’s own settings. Your interactions on YouTube and TikTok are governed by those platforms’ own privacy policies.
