Every human who ever lived fits inside one pixel.
In 1990, after more than a decade in space, Voyager 1 turned its camera back towards home. At roughly 6 billion kilometres out, Earth was barely there — a pale blue fleck, less than a single pixel wide, suspended in a beam of scattered sunlight. No borders. No wars. No monuments. Just one faint point of light carrying every person who has ever drawn breath. Every empire, every love story, every moment of history — all of it on that tiny dot. The astronomer Carl Sagan looked at this image and wrote some of the most clear-eyed words in the English language. You don't need to have read them to feel what they mean. That photograph still does the job. Follow Deep Field Vault and we'll keep bringing the universe home.
